I am currently a second-year student studying Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of Hong Kong (HKU). Previously, I obtained a PhD in Clinical Oncology from HKU and a BSc in Public Health from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. I have been involved in postdoctoral medical and public health research. I enjoy participating in volunteer services, including rural revitalization and youth affairs in mainland China and Hong Kong. I am also passionate about public affairs and serve as a member of various government advisory committees, focusing on youth development and civic education. I hope to make a positive contribution to society by utilizing my professional knowledge and extensive experience. Additionally, I love hiking, which gives me the opportunity to appreciate nature and cultural landscapes. I am Edward Choi, currently working on topics related to international cooperation and stakeholder engagement. Previously, I worked with international organisations to help advance climate and nature solutions in Hong Kong, Mainland, across Asia, and at the global level. I came across WZQ by chance and eventually joined their activities. I had the opportunity to participate in a pre-visit to Xiaowopu Village in Hebei. During a three-day visit over the Labour Day holiday, I joined Prof. Pan from Beijing Jiaotong University and students from the WZQ Societies at Beijing Jiaotong University and the Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture. The work focused on three main activities: planning communication strategies, conducting village surveys, and creating wall paintings. The team visited the Xiaowopu Village, the Xigou Village, and the Ganchaigou Village to observe and survey the lives of local residents, focusing on communication planning in the village, navigating complex social relationships, and addressing potential conflicts of interest. I graduated with a master's degree in European and International Public Policy from the London School of Economics. I am also a graduate of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, where I earned my bachelor's degree in Government and Public Administration.

I lead and support various youth programs that aim to raise awareness and action on social issues, such as the Children's Radio Program, the Ethnic Minority Youth Program on SDG 13, and the UNICEF Club. I have a strong passion for social development and current affairs, which motivated me to pursue my MFA in Film, Television and Digital Media Production at Hong Kong Baptist University.I enjoy writing stories of communities and individuals. I also participate in the Wu Zhi Qiao Rural Revitalization Leadership Lesson for two years, which supports rural development in Hong Kong. My goal is to find a positive impact for the society.

I am Tiffany, specialized in administration management. After graduation, I have worked in many different fields due to circumstances. Currently, mainly focus in event planning which related to Chinese culture. I enjoy writing and often contribute as a commentator on current affairs for various media outlets. In my free time, I love traveling and firmly believe that reading thousands of books cannot compare to traveling thousands of miles. Through travel, I get to experience different cultures and broaden my own horizons. During my studies and after graduation, I have also participated in various NGO activities, serving as the president of an NGO and receiving an Outstanding Volunteer Award. I'm Long Koo. I've received Rudolf Steiner secondary education in UK. Afterwards, I studied Maths, Physics and Psychology in mainstream education, then Computing and Games Development in university. Meanwhile, through homestay, I've experienced local culture. Back to Hong Kong I've worked as a waiter, air-conditioner maintenance assistant, and after-school care program tutor. I've learnt martial art in and travelled different provinces of mainland China. Back to Hong Kong, I've joined the Simple-living Experience Day in Yim Tin Tsai held by Nature Dao Company Limited. During apprenticeship, I've helped in construction and leading events. Afterwards, I've worked in the salt pan till now. My hobbies are connecting with nature, swordsmanship, music, traditional archery and swimming. I've joined Wu Zhi Qiao's event Outdoor Sketching in Yung Shue Au Village and met villagers, experienced the environment, and expressed feelings through sketching and words. The event Speaking of Yung Shue Au Village in Yung Shue Wan improved my understanding of the village. Wu Zhi Qiao Rural Revitalization Leadership Lesson (Advanced) allowed me to understand different organisations, rural life and culture, present situation, practice difficulties etc, I've gained a lot from this program.

This is Frances Kwan. I graduate from Jinan University Guangzhou studying History. After college, I worked for a trading company for 4 years then switched my career path to wine business and spent almost 10 years in this field .In 2022, I decided to turn my interest become my career and setup my own company for providing Outdoor activates and Tours services. I love exploring the nature, from mountaineering, camping to diving. Reading also a very important part in my life, history, philosophy and social science are on my list. I joined the Rural Revitalization Leadership Lesson (Advanced) organized by Wu Zhi Qiao this summer. Grateful to learn from so many expertise and professors and being inspired by them. Rural revitalization is not a slogan or just an idea. Solving society issues, balancing development between conservation etc., those are very challenging.The program really expended my views. Joining WZQ programme is a truing point of my points of view in rural service. As a volunteer under "Forest village - Mui Tsz Lam and Kop Tong sustainable village programme", sometimes I do have ideas in my mind about Sha Tak Kok or Lai Chi Wo to be more well-known. I choose not to speak because I think I am just a follower. After this programme I do feel I can do more than be a follower, I gained more confidence in helping to build a bright future for rural revitalization.

Graduated from the Advertising Design Department of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the Landscape Architecture Department of The University of Hong Kong. Previously worked with Cheil, HK01, and under SCMP's ELLE, Cosmopolitan, Harper's BAZAAR fashion magazines. I was also Lecturer at Hong Kong Baptist University lecturing on Media practices and Honour projects. Published travel notes in book, featured in publications such as "Looking Back at My City from Abroad," and magazines by the China Travel Publishing House. During university, participated in an exchange program at the National Bauhaus School in Germany, and traveled to Japan, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Israel, Morocco, among others. In 2016, I won in various categories at the IPPAWARDS International Photography Awards, covering a wide range of themes including documentary, urban architecture, and portrait photography. In recent years, I have been involved in social innovation projects, aiming to apply innovative concepts to solve societal issues. I have been interviewed by Hong Kong RTHK, Cable TV, Ming Pao, and have started collaborations with various brands or organizations, including GUHK, Dior, Arca Hotel, West Kowloon Cultural District, Breakthrough, HK01, Huawei, and Wu Zhi Qiao. In 2024, I participated in the Rural Revitalization Leadership Lesson (Advanced) at Wu Zhi Qiao, learned green skills, project management, and case studies. The project, "One Village, One Tile," was selected as the best project, starting from Mei Zi Lin Village. The aim is to promote a new generation's understanding and practice of Hong Kong's local rural culture through a multidisciplinary research perspective.

I have an academic background in Ocean Science with research interest in coral ecosystem and ecology, and 10+ years of work experience in the environmental education. I have always enjoyed meeting people from different backgrounds, and working on collaborative projects with multi-disciplinary and cross-sectoral approach. I have very much enjoyed my experience at WZQ rural revitalization leadership course earlier this year.

I am currently a Year 3 student at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, majoring in Environmental Management and Technology with minors in Business and China Studies. Having a strong interest in urban planning, public policy, and sustainable development, I plan to study MSc in Urban Planning upon graduation. My hobbies include long-distance running, hiking, movies, and classical music. Since my undergraduate studies, I have been actively involved in youth affairs, organizing and leading groups of students to participate in various mainland exchange activities in the form of internships or visits, so as to encourage more Hong Kong youths to understand the nation comprehensively and better integrate into the overall national development. In 2023, I joined the WZQ Rural Revitalization Leadership Lesson (Youth Group). This experience has deepened my understanding of the work of local rural conservation and left a deep impression on the beautiful villages and Sha Tau Kok area. I look forward to joining more rural conservation work and promoting sustainable rural development in the future.

I am a graduate of the "Wu Zhi Qiao Rural Revitalization Leadership Lesson (Advanced)" and a member of the project implementation group "We@Villages." This initiative successfully published an oral history booklet titled "Returning to My Hometown: A Record of Yung Shue Au Village, the Northeast New Territories." Currently, I serve as the Center Supervisor at a charitable organization, passionately engaging in community participation and development. My philosophy focuses on empowering communities to enhance their resilience and foster a spirit of friendliness.

I’m Felix, a postgraduate in Corporate Environmental Management with an undergraduate background in Environmental Science. My career interests lie at the intersection of sustainable tourism and nature conservation, where I aim to contribute to both preserving ecosystems and fostering environmental stewardship in local communities. Over the years, I have gained hands-on experience in conservation programs, having worked as an eco-guide in Hong Kong and participated in various on-site research projects. I have developed strong project management skills, successfully leading conservation initiatives, coordinating field teams, and managing budgets. My focus has always been on delivering projects on time and within scope, while ensuring that the conservation goals are met effectively. In my role at Ocean Park Hong Kong’s Education Department, I developed educational materials and conducted training workshops, raising awareness about conservation issues among diverse audiences. This experience enhanced my ability to communicate complex environmental topics in an engaging and accessible way. One of my most rewarding experiences was working with the Wu Zhi Qiao Rural Revitalization Leadership Lesson (Advanced) to create the ZeroV project, which won the Champion Project Award. Through this initiative, we used an interdisciplinary STEM approach to design and print models of traditional Hakka houses. The project, which included workshops and field studies, provided primary school students with a deeper understanding of local architecture, culture, and ecology. I’m excited about the future of sustainable conservation projects and am eager to contribute to initiatives that make a lasting impact on both nature and communities.

With over a decade of experience in financial media and communications, my interests lie in the historical and cultural heritage of the local and rural communities. I enjoy exploring the different facades of Hong Kong as a hiker, a flaneur, and a docent tour goer. Being from the northern New Territories, I pay close attention to the area's development. During my career break in 2023, I redirected my skills into volunteerism and docent programs. I was privileged to join WZQ's Rural Revitalization Leadership Lesson, which not only deepened my appreciation for the Northeastern New Territories but also allowed me to lead a rural revitalization project from inception to execution. This endeavor has been a fulfilling extension of my dedication to community development and cultural preservation.

I am passionate about the nature and historical culture. While exploring remote villages, I was delighted to see some communities gradually revitalizing, with residents returning. I was inspired by the voluntary work experience of my university professor, Dr. Ka-fu Wong and hoped to have the opportunity to experience the challenging yet meaningful process of rural construction, just like him. In the autumn of 2023, I was fortunate to join the WZQ Rural Revitalization Leadership Lesson (Youth Group), where I achieved full attendance in the courses and field studies, serving as a youth docent in the charity walk. I learned that rural revitalization requires collective effort from all parties involved. For example, the community kitchen in Mui Tsz Lam may seem simply arranged, but the success of the project relied on the support of villagers, planning by architectural experts, the hard work of volunteers, and the timber supplied by local social enterprises. The Advanced program in 2024 allowed me to participate in a small rural project, where I realized that the support of villagers is a key factor in completing the work. From site selection and activity format to storage space and venue rental, every aspect required the cooperation of villagers. Their encouragement and smiles motivated me to work even harder, and ultimately, my team, the Rural Print, won the Most Popular Project Award.

My name is Kelvin. I am currently pursuing a master's degree in architecture at Hong Kong Chu Hai College. I am passionate about outdoor activities, especially rugby, where I serve as a player, coach, and referee. Since 2019, I have been involved with the organization and participated in its first project in Hong Kong—Mui Tsz Lam Community Kitchen. I was fortunate to be responsible for the project's design and to communicate and gather feedback from the villagers. During the construction phase, I actively participated and witnessed the entire process from inception to sharing the final results with the community. Additionally, I took part in a volunteer service project in Nam Chung, where we used local natural materials to create mud bricks and restore the kitchen's exterior and interior walls while enjoying the beauty of nature. In August 2024, I was involved in the Children's Friendly Park project in Shaoguan, Guangdong. In just one week, we completed the design and built the park. Although the process was challenging, seeing the children playing happily in the park made all the effort worthwhile.

My name is Esther, and I am a recent graduate working as a mechanical engineer. I am passionate about exploring diverse cultures and enjoy engaging in active pursuits like badminton and rock climbing. With a strong enthusiasm for hands-on work and community-focused projects, I am driven to create meaningful impact through engineering. This motivation inspired me to pursue a minor in Social Science during my studies, aiming to bridge my engineering expertise with contributions that benefit society. During secondary school, I volunteered in several rural villages in Mainland China, organizing activities for left-behind children. I genuinely enjoyed staying in these rural communities, as it allowed me to immerse myself in their culture and daily life. These experiences fueled my passion for rural service and community building. My journey with Wu Zhi Qiao began when I joined the student team at HKUST. Drawn to Wu Zhi Qiao’s mission to improve rural communities, I found it an ideal opportunity to combine my engineering skills with meaningful service. Our team has been actively involved in Kuk Po Village in Hong Kong, where we managed planning, conducted site investigations, installed lights at Kai Choi School, and assisted with home renovations for villagers. I also participated in two service trips to Mainland China, including projects in Chongqing Xingxi Village and Hebei Xiaowopu Village. There, we built footbridges, painted murals, and carried out various engineering initiatives to support community infrastructure. Additionally, I joined the Wu Zhi Qiao Rural Revitalization Leadership Lessons, which broadened my knowledge of sustainable community projects. I collaborated with teammates to create a historical booklet for Yung Shue Au Village—a project that fostered community identity and supported broader goals in rural revitalization and cultural preservation.

I am Carina, a year 4 Government and Laws student from University of Hong Kong. I am currently on semester exchange at School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, focusing on International Law, African and Middle Eastern affairs. Having volunteered for the underprivileged since secondary school across and beyond Hong Kong, I am most interested in bridging the gap between developed and developing communities. I'm into travelling, exploring new cultures and trying new cuisine. My journey with WZQ officially began in summer of 2022, when I joined the mainland office as a project internship as part of my university's experiential learning programme. I had the opportunity to venture into three main project sites within two months, including assisting in the Gansu's centre's operation, a collaboration camp in Xi'An and kickstarting an oral history project in Hebei. The experience has deepened my bonds with village culture and the nature. Since returning to Hong Kong, I continued volunteering to WZQ through university projects and Charity Walk, which allowed me to immerse myself into local village culture. This offered me diverse perspectives about cultural conservation and development issues.

I joined Wu Zhi Qiao when I was a university student. I was a core member of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University's Wu Zhi Qiao team, and participated in some footbridge construction and livelihood improvement projects, including those at Liuzhu Village, Yunnan and Shangluo, Shaanxi. After graduation, I have been actively involved in the activities of Wu Zhi Qiao, such as local project at Mui Tsz Lam, the construction of the Handicraft Trail in collaboration with THEi, etc. I joined the first Wu Zhi Qiao Youth Member Scheme in 2022, and actively participated in related meetings and activities. From 2023 to 2024, I participated in the footbridge construction project in Xingxi Village, Chongqing, as well as WZQ Rural Revitalization Leadership Lesson (Youth Group and Advanced). Moreover, I was also a member of the project management committee for Yung Shue Au Village Revitalization Project .

My name is Zhou Yizhuo, from the Education University of Hong Kong. I am majoring in Heritage Education and Arts Management, and this is my second year of undergraduate study. I am passionate about cultural exploration and have been involved in the distinctive regional cultures of different regions in China. At the same time, I also have great enthusiasm for rural conservation and revitalization, and I have a deep attachment to the countryside. In addition, I am also fully enthusiastic about participating in public welfare projects and improving social welfare! The first time I came into contact with Wu Zhi Qiao was when I participated in a charity tour to Lai Chi Wo in March this year. During this tour, I was deeply impressed by Wu Zhi Qiao’s charity concept. After that, I participated in volunteer activities to conserve plum trees and learned more about the work of Wu Zhi Qiao. During this National Day, I participated in Wu Zhi Qiao’s annual exchange camp. I visited traditional villages in the northeastern New Territories and Lantau Island. I also had the opportunity to communicate with Wu Zhi Qiao student teams from Hong Kong and Mainland China. I am extremely honored!

I graduated from the Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) with a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Civil Engineering, and from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University with a Master of Science in Civil Engineering. Since 2016, I have voluntarily served as a Student Coordinator for THEi’s Wu Zhi Qiao Student Team, becoming the first Wu Zhi Qiao Youth Committee Member and a member of the Project Management Committee for the Yung Shue Au Village Revitalization Project. I have participated in several livelihood improvement projects with Wu Zhi Qiao, including the Huanglongchang Village Project in Sichuan Province (2016), Macha Village Projects in Gansu Province (2016–2018), Xingxi Village Project in Chongqing Province (2023), and community revitalization and conservation efforts in Sha Tau Kok, Hong Kong. I am dedicated to exploring rural revitalization and low-carbon development modes through the Wu Zhi Qiao (Bridge to China) Charitable Foundation by fostering mutual learning among various stakeholders to create a world of universal harmony.
