Project Officer

Key Responsibilities

  1. Work closely with university volunteer teams, project committee, management council, representative office in Mainland China, donors, and related stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient management and implementation of sustainable rural revitalization and youth empowerment projects of the Mainland and Hong Kong.
  2. Monitor the quality, implementation, budget control of the approved projects and compile reports, manual and operational plans.
  3. Drive and develop Wu Zhi Qiao new rural sustainability project initiatives with Mainland China and Hong Kong university partners, project committee, donors, and related stakeholders. 
  4. Maintain good relationship between Wu Zhi Qiao and university volunteer teams and alumni.  
  5. Provide full spectrum support to CEO/Project Manager for the overall operations and development of Wu Zhi Qiao.
  6. Work in rural project sites of the Mainland (such as Gansu, Shaanxi, Hebei, Guangdong, Fujian, Chongqing, etc.) and Hong Kong is required. 
  7. Work on weekends or holidays during peak programme period. 


  1. University Degree holder, preferably in Social Sciences disciplines.
  2. Minimum of 2 years relevant working experience, preferably in social services, youth development, and/or humanitarian sector.
  3. Experience in working in rural villages of Mainland China and Hong Kong is a definite asset.
  4. Strong skills in project management, networking, and communications.
  5. Proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua)
  6. Self-motivated, strong sense of responsibility, independent, multi-tasking, can-do attitude with high cultural sensitivity.
  7. Able to work in a multi-disciplinary team and under pressure and dynamic environment.
  8. Candidate with less experience may be considered for Assistant Project Officer
