2013 Wu Zhi Qiao Universities’ teams Welcome Gatherings (11 Dec 2013)
The Welcome Gatherings this year were held on 16 and 24 November 2013 in Hong Kong and Xi’an respectively. Apart from the sharing from our Chairman, Sir David Akers-Jones, other members of Wu Zhi Qiao and the school WZQ teams, we had the pleasure of Dr An Kyoung Jin of Thei introducing Environmental Leadership and Mr Kwok-Choi Pang, Cluster Manager of World Vision presenting their community projects. In addition, 33 mainland team members passed the first-aid course between 21 and 23 November 2013. We wish to take the opportunity to thank the volunteering tutors, Ms Melissa Wong, Mr Wu Gui, Mr Wu Ru-Xing and Mr Zhang Jian-hua.
Wu Zhi Xing 2013 (20 Nov 2013)
Wu Zhi Qiao Charitable Foundation launched their third intervarsity charity walk – “Wu Zhi Xing 2013” on 17 November 2013, International Students’ Day. The event gathered more than 900 students, teachers and alumni of 13 local tertiary institutions and Hong Kong citizens. Holding one brick each, the participants travelled along Tsuen Wan Park to Sham Tseng to pass on the belief “Take a “Brick” to change lives with bridges”. The event has successfully raised more than HKD1.2 Million to support the operation and development of the Foundation to encourage more university students to be involved with bridge and community enrichment projects in remote areas in Mainland China.

WZQ bridge building programme in Dawajie Village, Yunnan now open for recruitment! (13 Nov 2013)
In Dawajie village of Yunnan, the locals cross the river by stepping stones. Thus, Wu Zhi Qiao teams from Chongqing Jiaotong University, Hong Kong, The Hong Kong University of Science & Technology and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Illinois are planning to build a safe suspension bridge for them from 22 to 31 Dec. They are now recruiting passionate Hong Kong team members. Can’t you miss it?

Personnel Change in the Council of Management (2 Sep 2013)
The Foundation would like to announce that Prof. Edward Ng has resigned as Councillor of the Foundation effective from 30 August 2013.
The Foundation would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank Prof. Ng for his many outstanding contributions as the Founding Chairman and Councillor since our inauguration 6 years ago. Professional and international recognitions were bestowed on our success in which Prof. Ng’s contribution had been invaluable!
The Council of the Management is fully committed to continue with the objectives and spirit of Wu Zhi Qiao as we embark on a new milestone!
We would like to wish Prof. Ng all the best for his sabbatical leave and continual success in his future endeavours.
