Professor Emily ChanProfessor_Emily_Chan Since joining the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2006, Professor Emily Chan has been teaching and conducting research of global health and Medical humanitarian relief. Her goal is to enhance the effectiveness of relief measures to victims of disaster. In the past decade, Professor Chen has been an active volunteer for Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF), United Nations Children’s Fund, HelpAged International and Merlin. She has participated in the MSF programmes in over 15 countries, including China, East Timor, Kosovo, Myanmar, Mindanao, Kashmir, etc.
Mr Chan Hung Ming Chan_Hung_Ming As a main contractor with over 40 years’ experience in the construction industry, Mr Chan Hung Ming completed more than 100 construction projects in Hong Kong. Grand Ming Holdings Limited, a company founded by Mr. Chan, engages in diversified business in Hong Kong and Mainland China including property development, building construction, securities investment and data centre services.
Dr Albert Chau Wai LapAlbert Dr Chau is currently Vice-President for Teaching and Learning in HKBU. Devoted to community service, Dr Chau has served on committees and panels related to secondary and tertiary education. He was also appointed to several Government committees or advisory panels related to education, elderly affairs, the environment and broadcasting; and volunteered his expertise to a few charities and non-governmental organisations engaged in youth development, heritage preservation and arts and culture. In the past years, he is the university convener for Wu Zhi Xing Charity Walk, coordinating student affairs offices of local institutions to support our events. He also joined HKU-Tsing Hua Wu Zhi Qiao construction trip in 2011.

Apart from being a registered safety auditor and safety officer, he is also a member of UK’s Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, as well as a member of Canadian Society of Safety Engineering.

Mr Terry Ng Terry Mr Terry Ng is fellow of CPA Australia. He was an Executive Director of several list companies during 1993 and 2010. He is currently an Honorary President of the Activities Committee of the Eastern District Junior Police Call.
Dr Josie Zhou Dr_Josie_Zhou Dr Josie Zhou obtained her PhD from Oxford University. She has worked for the United Nations and international non-profit institutions. Currently she is an appointed advisor for the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Cultural Heritage Conservation. She is also an initiator of the Peace and Development Foundation, on the Advisory Board for the Jackie Chan Charitable Foundation, and supports a number of charitable and environmental organizations.

Ms Rita Chan joined Wu Zhi Qiao in early 2008, and was elected Co-Chairperson of the Advocacy and Publicity Committee in [2010]. She is currently a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs. She has for many years devoted substantial efforts to community service, with a focus on empowering young people to broaden their perspectives as a means to refine and achieve their goals. Being a published author proficient in multiple languages, including English, Chinese, Japanese, and Malay, she has a passion in promoting cross-cultural interactions and mutual understanding. Apart from her involvement in Wu Zhi Qiao, she also operates a need-based scholarship and mentoring programme for medical students in China, which now boasts an established network of outstanding young doctors and medical postgraduates. She graduated from the University of Chicago with a Master’s degree in Social Sciences.

Mr Stephen Li Mr_Stephen_Li Mr Stephen Li holds a number of degrees from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) including Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Finance, Master of Business Administration in Management, Master of Arts in Japanese Studies and Master of Social Science in Sustainable Tourism. He also obtained his Master of Law from Renmin University of China. From 2005 to 2008, he was a member of the Committee on Bilingualism in CUHK, which reviewed language policies with a view to enhancing bilingual education at the University. Mr Li is now a rover scout and a region leader of the Hong Kong Scout Association. He abides by the Association’s promise that a scout should do the best of his duty to help other people.
Ms Fiona Wan Ms_Fiona_Wan Ms Fiona Man has ample experience of brand building and dealing with the mass media. A former spokesperson for Sun Hung Kai Properties, Ms Man and her team were responsible for the Company’s brand building, public relations and crisis management. She was once an Administrative Officer in the HKSAR Government responsible for implementing transport regulations. In her early career in the media industry, she was a columnist writing articles on political and topical issues for Hong Kong Economic Times and Sing Tao Daily. Ms Wan is now Associate Director (Corporate Communications), The SHKP-Kwoks’ Foundation at Sun Hung Kai Properties.
Ms Leona Wong Ms_Leona_Wong Ms Leona Wong graduated from the School of Journalism and Communication of Chinese University of Hong Kong. She had written a series of featured articles and a book entitled 《創業2.0 科網六子蕩寇誌》which won the Grand Award in Feature and Commentary Group (Print Media) in the 4th Chinese University Journalism Award. Ms Wong wrote editor’s column for Hong Kong Economic Times. She is now Executive Director of Hong Kong Wireless Technology Industry Association.
Mr Vincent Wong O Mr Vincent Wong joined advertising agency Ogilvy & Mather Hong Kong after university graduation in 1996. He was also a former Hong Kong Government official responsible for policy formulation in urban planning, reclamation and long-term care for the elderly. Mr Wong received his Master of Business Administration degree from the Cambridge University in 2001 and a law degree from the University of London in 2002. He has been with APCO Asia since 2003, with a focus on policy research. He was also the Director of Strategic Planning of Hong Kong Commercial Broadcasting Company, and hosts the daily talkshow “On a Clear Day”. He is now the Board Director of the Social Enterprise “The Good Lab”, an incubator for young social entrepreneurs.

Mr Max Lee Mr_Max_Lee Mr Max Lee obtained his Bachelor and Master of Electrical Engineering from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and UK respectively. Mr Lee is now working in CUHK as a technical officer managing the Design and Technology Laboratory at the School of Architecture.

Dr Mujun, Co-ChairpersonMujun Dr. Mu Jun received his Bachelor and Master of Architecture from Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology (XAUAT), as well as a master’s degree and a doctorate degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is now teaching at XAUAT. Dr. Mu has conducted practical studies on earth architecture in the Loess Plateau region and sustainable development of ecological environment in western rural areas with a view to developing suitable ecological architecture for local conditions. He assisted Prof. Edward Ng in completing several ecology architectural projects, such as the “Maosi Ecological Demonstration Primary School” project and the ”A Bridge Too Far, A Dream Come True” project, The two projects have received a number of local and international awards. Dr. Mu is now Project Manager of the Foundation. With ample experience of building ecology architecture in rural areas, he is responsible for mobilizing and organizing teams from the Hong Kong and Mainland universities to develop and implement Wu Zhi Qiao projects as well a to carry out related academic researches.
Professor Zhou Tiegang Co Chairperson Professor_Zhou_Tiegang Professor Zhou Tiegang is the Associate professor of Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology and Deputy Director of the Institute of Engineering and Technology for the Living Environment of the Vulnerable Groups. Over the years he has been dedicated to the study of seismic safety performance, durability, and building methods of residential housing in western China.

As he is very familiar with the local culture and environment, he has provided huge support to the Wu Zhi Qiao projects in Lijiang. He frequently travels around the area to identify potential sites for building bridges.

She is currently pursuing a doctorate degree in public health, majoring in disaster psychology. Because of her commitment in work and research, she frequently visits poverty-stricken remote areas which are impacted by disasters in order to understand and assist in post-disaster psychological rehabilitation.

Dr Kevin Hung Dr_Kevin_Hung Dr Kevin Hung holds two master’s degrees in the fields of public health and disaster medicine. He participated in various needs assessment and evaluation trips in post-disaster rural area in China and Bhutan with the Public Health Humanitarian Initiative in the Chinese University of Hong Kong, He also served as a volunteer doctor during the emergency medical relief phase after the earthquake in Sichuan in 2008.

Ms Esther Yiu Ms_Esther_Yiu Ms Esther Yiu is currently Honorary Principal Nursing Officer and Clinical Tutor of CERT-CUHK-Oxford University Centre for Disaster and Medical Humanitarian Response. Professor Michael ChanMichael Professor Chan is an assistant professor in School of Design, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He also works closely with the Faculty of Construction and Environment on bridge building method, environment and ecology studies. Michael has been supporting and advising the school teams since the first WZQ project.
Professor Zhang LiminLimin Professor Zhang is a graduate of Sichuan University. He is Professor of Geotechnical Engineering in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Associate Director of the Geotechnical Centrifuge Facility at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

He is experienced in university administration. He is now Section Head of Social and Civic Engagement Section at The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Since 2010, Victoria has organised an annual fundraising family event to promote Wu Zhi Qiao in education field and raise fund, and also to nourish the next generation with the spirits of love and benevolence.
Centre for Disaster and Medical Humanitarian Response blank Centre for Disaster and Medical Humanitarian Response (CCOUC), established in April 2011, is a collaboration between the China Emergency Relief Training (CERT), The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the University of Oxford. The Centre focuses on research, education, and services for disaster preparedness, relief, and response in the Greater China and Asia Pacific region. In Wu Zhi Qiao project, the CCOUC team organises health education programmes for the local villagers apart from building bridges.

Ms Sharon Chow CEO Sharon1 Ms Sharon Chow graduated in The Chinese University of Hong Kong and The University of Hong Kong respectively. Before joining the Foundation, Sharon had served in a number of green groups and spearheaded a number of environmental education and conservation programmes in Hong Kong and remote areas in China. She is the founding CEO of Wu Zhi Qiao (Bridge to China) Charitable Foundation since 2007.
Dr Mujun Mun Project ManagerMujun Dr Mu Jun received his Bachelor and Master of Architecture from Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology (XAUAT), as well as a master’s degree and a doctorate degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is now teaching at XAUAT. Dr. Mu has conducted practical studies on earth architecture in the Loess Plateau region and sustainable development of ecological environment in western rural areas with a view to developing suitable ecological architecture for local conditions. He assisted Prof. Edward Ng in completing several ecology architectural projects, such as the “Maosi Ecological Demonstration Primary School” project and the ”A Bridge Too Far, A Dream Come True” project, The two projects have received a number of local and international awards. Dr. Mu is now Project Manager of the Foundation. With ample experience of building ecology architecture in rural areas, he is responsible for mobilizing and organizing teams from the Hong Kong and Mainland universities to develop and implement Wu Zhi Qiao projects as well a to carry out related academic researches.
