In light of the recent state of society, Wu Zhi Xing 2014 will be rescheduled to 8 Feb 2015 (Sunday). Enrolment Deadline will be extended to 2 January 2015.

Introduction

The Walk will take place along Pak Shek Kok Promenade to Tai Po Yuen Chau Tsai Park(about 5km)which commands panoramic views of Ma On Shan and Tolo Harbour. Along the route, our student volunteers will share their once-in-a-lifetime Wu Zhi Qiao experience in remote mainland China. LIKE us and Enjoy all the happy and touching moments!

Use of Donations

Donation raised will be used to support the Village Centre Construction Project in Macha Village of Gansu, China, using the advanced rammed earth technology. The project will not only improve the local’s livelihood, but also demostrate the potentials of earth architecture as an anti-seismic, safe, comfortable, eco-friendly and a-ffordable alternative to a more sustainable rural development.     7To introduce our Modern Earth House Rebuild and Sustainable Development Research Demonstration Project and the latest DIY Manual, Wu Zhi Qiao held a brief press conference in early August. Route Introduction Pak Shek Kok Along the Pak Shek Kok Promenade, participants will have fantastic panoramic views of Ma On Shan and Tolo Harbour. This year, we will encourage our student teams to share their once-in-a-lifetime Wu Zhi Qiao experience in remote mainland China.

There are two categories – Tertiary Institutions Category and Open Category .

Tertiary Institutions Category Students, staff and alumni of participating institutions are welcome to join with companions. Please choose one of the following enrolment methods:

  • Enrolment Form (Applicable to participating institutions* only. You are welcome to join through the coordinating unit of your institution. Please click here to see contact details of respective coordinating unit and download corresponding enrolment form.)
  • Online Enrolment

# Online applicant can update / submit enrolment details through online enrolment system. For applicants who apply with enrolment form, they have to update / submit information by the paper form separately if necessary.

Minimum Donation/Person Tertiary students with valid student ID card/Person(s) aged below 18:HK$200

Others:HK$500

Open Category You are welcome to join as an individual, family or corporate/organization team. Please choose one of the following enrolment methods:

Notes to Applicants

  1. Tertiary Institutions Category :For those applicants of participating institutions, the Foundation will send the confirmation and related materials of the event to the respective coordinating unit for dissemination by 16 January 2015. (Note: For those participants of participating institutions, their enrolment data will be transferred to the respective coordinating units for further material dissemination and communication purposes.) For those applicants of non- participating institutions, Wu Zhi Qiao will send the confirmation and related materials of the event by post directly. If the applicant has not yet received these materials by 16 January 2015, please contact us directly.
  2. Open Category:The Foundation will send the confirmation and related materials of the event to the team leaders for dissemination to respective team members by 16 January 2015. If the team leader has not yet received these materials by 16 January 2015, please contact us directly.
  3. Participants under the age of 18 must obtain prior consent of his/her parents/guardian. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by adults.
  4. Late application will not be processed. Walk-in registration will not be accepted on the day of the event.
  5. In case of bad weather, announcement in relation to any changes to the event will be made through electronic media 3 hours before the event.
  6. Donations will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Remark: The Foundation reserves final right on enrolment and event arrangement.

There will be a winner, first runner-up and second runner-up for the participating institutions in Tertiary Institution Category. There will be a winner in each of the individual, family and corporate divisions in the Open Category. The winners will be awarded in the kick-off ceremony on the day of the event.

Note:

  1. The cut off date to determine the award for the highest amount of funds raised is 2 January 2015 for both categories.
  2. Event sponsors are welcome to raise extra fund to compete for the award. (excluding the sponsorship amount)
  3. The fundraising amount will be calculated on the basis of each institution for the Tertiary Institutions Category. For Open Category, the fundraising amount will be calculated as the total amount raised by one single team as indicated in the application form. The number of participants in each team will not be taken into consideration.
