Take a “Brick” to Change Lives with Bridges

Purpose

Following with the success of Wu Zhi Xing in the past 2 years, Wu Zhi Qiao (Bridge to China) Charitable Foundation will launch the 3rd charity walk — from Tsuen Wan Park to Bellagio in Sham Tseng on Sunday, 17 November 2013, International Students’ Day, to raise fund and unite and efforts and caring hearts from tertiary institutions, and to improve the lives of the villagers by building footbridges in remote villages in rural China.

Use of Donations

Donations raised through this event (after deducting expense) will be used for supporting the operation and the development of Wu Zhi Qiao (Bridge to China) Charitable Foundation.

Every single step you take can enhance the operation and development of the Foundation, enabling more university students to participate in our bridge building projects and village enrichment projects! Please come and join us NOW!

Routing Introduction P3100822 Come and join the 3rd Wu Zhi Xing – from Tsuen Wan Park to Bellagio in Sham Tseng. Participants will have multi-angle views of the Tsing Ma Bridge and Ting Kau Bridge, the well-known landmarks of Hong P3100967Kong along the route. This year, we will ride on a Chinese inspirational story and request participants to bring along a piece of eco block to the end point to promote perseverance and positive thinking, especially to young people, to encourage them to be full actors of the future.

There are two categories which are Tertiary Institutions Category and Open Category .

Tertiary Institutions Category Students, staff and alumni of participating institutions are welcome to join with companions. Please choose one of the following enrolment methods:

  • Enrolment Form (Applicable to participating institutions* only. You are welcome to enroll through the coordinating unit of your institution. Please click here to see contact details of respective coordinating unit and download corresponding enrolment form.)
  • Online Enrolment

# Only Online applicant is allowed to update / submit enrolment details by online enrolment system. For applicants who apply with enrolment form, they have to update / submit enrolment information by the form separately if necessary.

Minimum Donation/Person Tertiary students with valid student ID card/Persons aged below 18:HK$200

Others:HK$500

Open Category You are welcome to join as an individual, family or corporate team. Please choose one of the following enrolment methods:

Notes to Applicants

  1. Tertiary Institutions Category :For those applicants of participating institutions, the Foundation will send the confirmation and related materials of the event to the respective coordinating unit for dissemination by 6 Nov 2013. (Note: For those participants of participating institutions, their enrolment data will be transferred to the respective coordinating units for further material dissemination and communication purposes.)For those applicants of non- participating institutions, the Foundation will send the confirmation and related materials of the event by post directly. If the applicant has not yet received these materials by 6 Nov, 2013, please contact us directly.
  2. Open Category:The Foundation will send the confirmation and related materials of the event to the team leaders for dissemination to respective team members by 6 Nov 2013. If the team leader has not yet received these materials by 6 Nov, 2013, please contact us directly.
  3. Participants under the age of 18 must obtain prior consent of his/her parents/guardian. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by adults.
  4. Late application will not be accepted. Walk-in registration will not be accepted on the day of the event.
  5. In case of bad weather, the Foundation may postpone the event to 24 Nov 2013. Announcement in relation to any changes to the event will be made through electronic media 3 hours before the event.
  6. Donations will not be refunded under any circumstances.

On or after 31 January 2014 For those participants of participating institutions, donation receipt(s) can be collected at the Coordinating Unit of your institution.

For those participants of non-participating institutions, donation receipt(s) will be sent to them for dissemination to the sponsor(s) by the Foundation.

Remark: The Foundation reserves final right on enrolment and event arrangement.

Remark: The Foundation reserves final right on enrolment and event arrangement.

There will be a winner, first runner-up and second runner-up for the participating institutions in Tertiary Institution Category. There will be a winner, first runner-up and second runner-up in each of the individual, family and corporate divisions in the Open Category. The winners will be awarded in the kick-off ceremony on the day of the event.

Note:

  1. The cut off date to determinate the award for the highest amount of funds raised is 25 October 2013 for both categories.
  2. If the event sponsors wish to join the awards, they have to raise extra fund excluding sponsorship pledged.
  3. The fundraising amount will be calculated on the basis of each institution for the Tertiary Institutions Category. For Open Category, the fundraising amount will be calculated as the total amount raised by one single team as indicated in the application form. The number of participants in each team will not be taken into consideration.
